A private fine line studio in Ayr. Rio-trained, Dubai-proven. Opening autumn 2026 — and the first appointments go to the waiting list.
The list is the only way in before opening. I read every name on it personally.
The work
-
Freehand, drawn on the body.
-
An ornament for the sternum.
-
A love letter, kept forever.
-
Her favourite drink in Tokyo.
-
A window she carries.
-
Healed. The honest proof.
They came nervous. They come back.
- I recently got my first-ever tattoo from Paula, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment I walked into the studio, she made me feel completely at ease.
- Probably the best line tattoo artist I’ve met.
- She is so skilled – the fine lines are so FINE and I love the colour. She completely understood what I wanted.
- Looove my tiny tattoos done by Paula. She has such a great hand, not only to get the perfect results, also to not feel the pain!
- She is caring, patient and very talented. She listens to me and follows through with details. That’s why I have been to her for 5 tattoos!!
- The tattooing was not painful at all and she had a really light touch.
- I absolutely LOVE Paula’s work. She is extremely talented, charismatic, and AMAZING, both as a person and as a professional.
- She is absolutely meticulous and precise, with a steady hand and an eye for details.
Google reviews — Bolchat Ink, Dubai
Rio. Dubai. Ayr.
After tattooing for a few years in Rio, I followed an opportunity that took me to Dubai, where I joined the city's only licensed tattoo studio. After more than four years of this incredible experience, I wanted a different pace of life and work — one where I could take my time, build real relationships with my clients and give more attention to every piece.
In Ayr, I found both the space to do that and a gap for a private, elevated tattoo experience — bringing some of the luxury I learned in Dubai but making it much more personal.
The experience
-
The welcome
A drink, something sweet, and your story.
-
The design
We draw it together. Nothing is chosen from a wall.
-
The session
One to one. Bossa nova on, or you're the DJ.
-
The portrait
Your finished piece has its own moment. With silks, fabrics and considered light, we create beautiful photographs of your new piece on you.
-
The aftercare
You leave with everything you need — and I see you again once it's healed.
If it's your first
“The imagination of the pain is always worse than the experience of the pain.”
I'm a specialist in first-timers — and they always come back.
- Choose something meaningful, somewhere you don't see every day. It gives you time to get used to this new part of yourself.
- Healing is mostly about following my instructions carefully, and giving it time.
- You can stop whenever you need. Breaks are part of it.

Choosing your piece
What kind of tattoos do you create?
I create custom fine line work, with a particular love for florals, script and ornamental pieces. Every design is considered for the body it will live on — its scale, movement, placement and how the detail will settle over time.
I've never had a tattoo before. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many of my clients come to me for their first tattoo. We take our time with the design, placement and every question before we begin, and you can ask for a break whenever you need one.
Will it hurt?
Everyone experiences tattooing differently, but the anticipation is often worse than the appointment itself. Placement and session length make a difference, and we can pause whenever you need.
Can I bring my own design or reference images?
Yes. Bring the idea, story, handwriting or references that show what you are drawn to. They guide our conversation; they are never simply copied. Your final piece is created for your body, placement and proportions.
Will I see my design before the appointment?
Designs are not sent in advance. I prepare from the brief we have agreed, then we go through the design, size and placement together at the appointment before tattooing begins. Small refinements are part of that conversation; a completely new direction may need more time and a new appointment.
Booking and payment
How do I book?
Before opening, join the waiting list. The first appointments will be offered there. When booking opens, I will contact the list with confirmed availability. Once we have agreed your piece and date, your appointment is secured by the deposit through Get Ink.
What happens after I join the waiting list?
You will hear from me before dates are announced more widely. Joining the list does not reserve an appointment or require payment. When I am ready to take bookings, I will invite you to share your idea and availability so I can consider your piece properly.
How much will my tattoo cost?
Each piece is quoted individually because size, placement, detail and working time all shape the price. The studio minimum is £80, and I will explain the price before you confirm your appointment.
What does it cost to book?
A £40 deposit secures standard appointments. An £80 deposit applies to full-day appointments. Your deposit comes off the final tattoo price and is non-refundable. With at least 72 hours' notice, it may be transferred once to a new agreed date. The full terms are in the booking policy.
How can I pay?
Your deposit is paid securely through Get Ink. The remaining balance can be paid in cash, by bank transfer, or through a Get Ink payment link using card or Apple Pay.
Your appointment
Can I use numbing cream?
Topical numbing products may be used for some appointments, but you must let me know before using one. Choose an appropriate product from a reputable source and follow its instructions exactly. I will assess the skin on the day, and we may need to change or reschedule the appointment if the area is irritated or unsuitable. The numbing cream policy explains what to tell me and when.
How should I prepare?
Arrive rested, eat properly beforehand, stay hydrated and wear something that gives us comfortable access to the placement. If you feel unwell or the skin is irritated, message me before travelling.
Can I bring someone with me?
You may come alone or bring one companion. The studio is private and appointments are one to one, so I cannot accommodate groups.
How old do I need to be?
You must be 18 or over to be tattooed. I may ask to see valid photographic identification.
Where can I park?
Pay-by-plate street parking is available around Wellington Square and nearby. The first two hours are currently free, but you must register your vehicle at the machine. For a longer appointment, please check the signs and machine beside your chosen space, as limits and charges can vary.
I have an accessibility or privacy requirement. What should I do?
Tell me when you enquire or as soon as you can before the appointment. I will discuss your needs privately and explain what can be arranged for the studio and the session. The studio is on the ground floor, but the entrance is raised above pavement level and reached by a flight of stone steps with handrails on both sides. There is no step-free entrance at present.
What happens after the tattoo?
You leave with clear aftercare guidance and everything you need for the first stage of healing. Follow it carefully, give your piece time, and contact me if you are unsure about anything. The aftercare and healing guide is here whenever you need it.
Will I need a touch-up?
Not necessarily. Every piece and every body heals differently. Please allow at least 30 days, then send clear, well-lit photographs. Where normal healing genuinely needs refinement, one complimentary touch-up may be offered within 12 weeks of the original appointment, subject to the Tattoo Touch-Up & Refinement Policy.
Begin your story.
Thirty commissions a month — that's all there is. Before opening, the waiting list is the only way in, and I read every name on it personally.
Opening this autumn. The first appointments go to the list.
Thank you — you're on the list. I'll write to you personally when the studio opens and dates are confirmed. Nothing before then, and nothing that isn't worth reading. — Paula
